Although most babies weigh under 3 lbs at this stage, the nurse informed us Alfy is looking a little bigger at over 3 lbs. He will gain about half a pound a week until week 38. He is getting fatter and beginning to control his own body temperature. He will continue to put on fat and the major weight gain will occur in the coming weeks. Eyebrows and eyelashes are fully developed, and hair on the head is getting thicker. His head and body are now proportioned like a newborn.
His hands are now fully formed and fingernails are growing (as you can see below). His eyelids are opening and closing, and will often make rapid eye movements - a sign he could be dreaming.
In our last ulrasound we took some 4-d images. Most of the time, Alfy was just like his Daddy and wanted nothing to do with being the center of attention in pictures. This is his "avoid the paparazzi" pose:
It was a little difficult to get clear images of his face, but this little picture made our hearts melt. I think he looks like Trey in it. :)
